A classic shirt dress is a wardrobe must-have for me. It’s an easy button-up that packs a lot of versatility. When they come with of-the-moment details, like the puff sleeves on today’s featured dress, shirt dresses become stars.

I stumbled upon this Joie dress in Nordstrom Rack. The statement sleeves with the exaggerated puff immediately caught my eye and prompted me to try it on even though it was a size large. When I did try it on, I fell in love with every detail. The fit was surprisingly perfect as well. I guess it runs small?
Like a classic shirt dress, this dress has a front button closure. What’s particularly fun about this style, though, is that it has button closures on both sides as well. I’m thinking that I’ll have loads of fun playing with those buttons when I wear the dress as a tunic top (like this).
The dress has a classic straight silhouette with a high-low shirttail hem. The dress looks beautiful when worn as is, but I couldn’t resist adding my Gucci web belt for a little stripe-on-stripe action and a pop of color.
