Anyone else feel like they’ve been having to dress for a heat wave? It’s still spring, but we’ve been facing several days of above-90-degree temps in St. Louis. Getting dressed when it’s that hot can get tricky. You want to look like your usual stylish self, but staying cool has to be a priority. My perfect outfit for this kind of weather is always an easy breezy style. Picture dresses or jumpsuits that are figure-flattering, lightweight, and breathable.
My easy breezy style:
Jumpsuit (old, see options in widget below) | Striped tee
Vince ‘Macey’ Sandals (option) | Fedora | Mac “Rebel” lipstick
I found this polka dot jumpsuit on sale in Anthropologie last year. It was a must-have for me because it combined two of my favorite styles–jumpsuits and wide-leg trousers. You get the ease and versatility of a one-piece with the skim-right-over-your-curves comfort of wide legs. Win-win!
The jumpsuit is also an easy breezy style because of its breathable fabric that keeps you cool. And, in stylish polka dots, it’s quite versatile, taking you from a day at the mall to brunch with the girls. I’m a fan of styles that offer that kind of wearability.
To have a little fun with functionality, I added a layer in stripes. I tie it around my waist when I’m moving around in the heat and throw it on when it gets cold in air-conditioned spaces.
I love a sharp-looking fedora. You may remember this straw style (shop it here) from my collaboration with J.Crew Factory. I love how the black band on the hat ties the entire look together.
