I was born and raised in a tropical place. And, growing up, I was never a fan of tropical prints. My friends and I used to secretly chuckle at tourists visiting our island home who would rock tropical prints. Now? Tropical prints could invade my wardrobe, and I’d be happy about it. I’m particularly fond of palm prints because they add a sophisticated and exotic vibe to your style, whether on island or in the city.
What I’m wearing:
Pants (2 color options) c/o | Top (available in 5 colors) c/o | Trench c/o
Sandals c/o | Lip: Mac “Ambrosial”
I’ve been searching for the perfect palm print since last summer. I wanted a dark and moody tropical print that’s more edgy than it is sweet. Well, I finally found that perfect print in the Soft Surroundings Pretty Palms Pant. This pants is available in two color options. I’m wearing Dark Tropical, a print that gives me that moody vibe I’ve been seeking.
I envision wearing these pants often this spring and summer. They’ll go well with button-down shirts, basic tees, and more. For now, I’m wearing the pants with a tank that boasts a gorgeous crossover design. My shoulders are my favorite thing to show off in clothing, so I’m thinking I might need this tank in all 5 colors (shop all the colors here).
By the way, I recently refreshed my hair color (more on that here). To show the color a bit more, I did a twist-out on my hair for the first time since cutting it. You see, with my new cut, I usually just wash and go. Anyway, I used one product to twist my hair–Beija Flor Naturals Creme Brûlée. This product left my hair so soft and well defined. I even wore it like this for a couple days without re-twisting.
Back to the outfit. Y’all, I’m really loving slides this warm season. I own a beautiful blush pair (check them out in my colorful jeans post). I’m excited to say that I now own a stunning pair in gold. These Sanna slides are EVERYTHING. I first glimpsed them in a catalog and had to do a double take because of their looks. When I further investigated them and found out that they were handmade using slender strips of Brazilian leather, I had to have them. They’re on sale right now too.
