Who remembers when pairing denim with denim was a fashion don’t? It’s hard to imagine because the double denim trend is not only acceptable now, it’s one of the coolest trends on the block. Of course, that’s great news for those of us who love all things denim. More ways to wear the denim things we own, right? Today’s post shares my secret to always nailing the trend. It’s all about balance.
Whenever I pair denim with denim, I strive for harmony in the overall look. An easy way to achieve that is to mix the denim washes in a look. In this outfit, for example, I pair a darker denim top with lighter wash jeans. This particular top adds even more interest because it has an ombre finish that goes from darker at the top to lighter at the trim.

Infusing colorful accessories into a double denim look is a fun way to create balance. My colorful clutch breaks up the denim in this ensemble with a beautiful pop of color.
Another cool way to play with accessories in a denim look is by choosing denim accessories. My lace-up denim sandals add a fun finishing touch while effortlessly transforming this look into a denim on denim on denim outfit. Triple denim!
