I’m thankful that we’ve had such a mild fall here in St. Louis. It’s been quite warm for most of the season. Who knew, though, that cold weather would finally show up with a vengeance? We got hit with an ice storm, snow, and single digit temps in one weekend. I wasn’t ready, y’all. Style wise? I stay ready. I bundled up in all the bright colors for some winter style colorblocking.

I first shared this coat, a bargain find in J.Crew Factory at the St. Louis Premium Outlets, in my How to Choose the Right Color for Your Winter Coat post. Last weekend, it was the perfect pop of color (and warmth, of course) to push through the dreary winter vibes. Since I wanted every inch of me covered, I paired it with a turtleneck sweater. The sweater is a deep shade of green that created a cool, monochrome look.
Tall boots were definitely a must, so I pulled on my new favorite pair by Naturalizer. They’e flexible and breathable. They also have cushioning and non-slip outsoles. Also important, they come in the perfect neutral color to support my winter brights.
Gloves were also in order, y’all. I decided to have some fun with mine by wearing a bright orange pair. They were the perfect complementary color to create a striking colorblock combination with the coat. They’re tech gloves I found in a clearance bin at the Gap.
