Color Trends: How to be Audacious in Aurora Red

Rose quartz and serenity might be the colors of the year, but your favorite lover of all things bright is loving the bolder hues projected to dominate fall trends. Aurora red, for example? Love it! It’s bold, punchy, and so exciting. I’m especially excited about Fall 2016 because of colors like aurora red.

In the spirit of “go bold or go home,” I paired a couple of my favorite red pieces to hang last Saturday. The tee is  a favorite slouchy scoop-neck style from Banana Republic that I grab whenever I see them on the clearance rack. I drape ’em off my shoulders to make ’em more interesting. Remember this orange tee? The pants, on the other hand, were a bargain buy from Burlington. This J.Crew style is similar (and on sale right now).

The camel wool fedora is an old favorite from H&M that I envision wearing often this fall because of the color. By the way, I buy my hats in the men’s section at H&M. I can get a larger size for my larger head, and the options are plentiful and affordable.

And, since leopard is all the rage this fall, I slipped on my newest J.Crew Elsie pumps. This is a satiny pair of leopard print pumps that’ll be my go-to ‘neutral’ pump. I purchased them on a recent trip to NYC. It was so good to be able to stroll into a store and shop the shoes. The St. Louis J.Crew stores are starting to carry more shoes, but the selections are still slim.
