Long vests. Sleeveless jackets. No matter what you call them, sleeveless is the way to go. Admittedly, jackets with no sleeves didn’t make much sense to me when they first became popular, but I can now appreciate how essential they are as stylish layers. They’re also quite versatile since they can be made appropriate for any season simply by layering.

I found my sleeveless jacket in Ross for under $30 (orig. $198). I tried it on on a whim and immediately saw all the styling possibilities. In addition to its perfect shade of olive and its drapey flow, this jacket has a lot going for it. From its patch pockets to overlay panels to open front, there’s so much I love about the jacket.
It was a beautiful warm day yesterday, so I took my trench out for a spin. For brunch, I layered it over a white v-neck tee paired with black skinnies. The combination had an effortlessly chic vibe.
I don’t wear my Madewell “Mira” heels enough. And, my green pair was the ideal complement for this entire look.
