Totes Ready for Fall

I’ve been shopping for a new everyday bag, a tote that could hold all my daily essentials. I wanted a tote that had a clean and unstructured silhouette. I also wanted this tote to have a wear-with-everything color. I eventually decided on burgundy because it’s such a rich color that can be worn like a neutral.

I shopped around. I tried some bags on. I was tempted by a few that didn’t fit all the requirements I had set, like the Rebecca Minkoff tote in dark forest. I saw that bag in Nordstrom, and the green color was so striking in person that I considered it. Here are my top four choices, including a surprise Forever 21 faux leather tote, which retails for only $27.90 and looks like it should cost much more than that.

If you saw my post yesterday, Transitioning Summer wide-leg pants into Fall, then you already know that I purchased the Rebecca Minkoff tote in port. I even got a little discount (15% off) by signing up for emails at the Rebecca Minkoff site. Here’s what I’ve been carrying in the bag.

The unlined tote is just that. It has a no-frills interior. It comes with a matching pouch that can be snapped on or off, and that’s it.

The tote is made from a buttery-soft pebbled leather accented with studs along the sides of the bag and at the base of the straps.

What do you look for in your everyday bag?

I love my tote bag. I can put things I shop for on my lunch break, a pair of shows, or a packed lunch in it. The perfect all in one everyday work bag.
