Block Party: Purple & Navy

Navy blue is no doubt a primary dark for the summer. Navy anchors most nautical looks and serves as a popular base color for geometric prints. This dark hue is also a timeless, go-with-everything color. In today’s post, I’m wearing one of my favorite navy pairings in a look that blocks navy with wisteria. Delicate purples like lavender and wisteria add such a soft touch to bold navy, producing a very smart combination.

This entire look began with the J.Crew sheer-sleeve crepe sweater in wisteria. I’ve been eying this top since it appeared in a recent style guide. Subtle details like a sheer sleeve on a baseball tee get me every time. The top is on sale in-store. I paid about $22 even though the online price is still listed as $65. By the way, the top runs large. I had to size down to an XXS.

My look is completed by my entire July Rocksbox setRocksbox stylists typically send three pieces of jewelry that could be worn together. I didn’t think I would wear the House of Harlow necklace with the Loren Hope earrings I received though. To my delight, the pieces work perfectly together in this purple and navy combination.

    Love this look on you!

I'll be honest and say that I never really wear shorts (unless I'm camping, hiking, or running). This outfit makes me want to grab a pair for this summer.

Thanks, Jennifer. I, like you, rarely wore shorts. Last summer, though, a couple pairs converted me. This J.Crew pair is worth a try. They may turn you into a shorts-wearing woman too.

No worries, Andrea. Something I learned while shopping this top is that a store associate can order an item at the in-store price (including in-store special offers) with free shipping. Hope you get the top. It's so luxe in person.
