#31DaysOfMovement

Let’s get moving, y’all! This month, I’m participating in Alive magazine’s #31DaysofMovement campaign, an effort that promotes health and wellness for the entire month of July. Join me! This campaign is the first major endeavor of Alive’s new health and fitness blog, Be Well STL—a haven for fitness tips, clean eating approaches, and good old motivation.

Last year, I set major fitness goals. During the summertime, however, heat and humidity present serious barriers to working out. To beat the heat and stay on track, I’ve had to become flexible with my workout time, duration, and sometimes location. Here I am tackling a scenic set of stairs at the Compton Hill Water Tower in St. Louis at 6AM.

To ensure workout success, I always rely on a few essentials. Moisture-wicking activewear keeps me dry. Cross-trainers keep my feet supported on the floors of the gym and outside. My litre bottle helps me keep track of my water intake and offers inspiring words every time I grab it. A towel is always handy to soak up sweat. Cotton headbands or bandanas keep my natural hair in tact. Fitness gloves in just the right size provide comfort, control, and protection when lifting heavy weights.

Love it! If a 6 AM run isn't commitment, then I don't know what is! Appreciate the reminder to get myself in gear this summer 🙂

Love it! I can't believe you were up doing stairs at 6am. That is amazing! And I love your cute camo bandana. I need one! Thanks, Psyche! #31DaysOfMovement
