A festive print mix to celebrate on Cinco de Mayo weekend.
Last Sunday, I reached for my custom-made African print skirt to wear on a sunny Sunday. I had the skirt made in a small Harlem shop last September, and it remains one of my favorites. This past weekend was the first time I got to wear the skirt in warmer weather.
To balance the volume of the skirt, I paired it with a barely-there tube top. This skirt boasts a very dominant print, but I had fun accessorizing the look with clashing prints. A clutch with animal spots and python wedges, each tied to the color story of the skirt, blended right in.

Thanks so much, Freda!
Love this look so much! I'm obsessed with African prints, I've been buying pieces in thrift stores just for the wax print fabric.Do you know anyone in town who makes custom garments? I'd love to have some pieces made too!
Thanks, Dacy! I don't know of anyone in town yet. I'm thinking that there must be some under-the-radar shop here somewhere. Will let you know if I ever find one.
Give me that skirt!
