Snow Day Style

On Saturday, we experienced a wintry mix of weather here in St. Louis.  A weather system passed through the area and left up to 9 inches of snow in some parts of the city.  After enjoying the beauty of the snow blanket outside, reality quickly set in when I remembered that I had to attend an event that morning.

Between the dangerous roads and the continued winter weather advisory, the last thing I wanted to worry about was what I was going to wear.  So, I got dressed as usual, pulling a colorblock blouse, skinny jeans, and boots.  I then reached for my secret weapon—a hooded puffer coat with a faux-fur trim.  I could wear a bikini under this well-insulated coat and still feel warm.

By the way, I purchased my puffer coat, which originally retailed for around $275, for only $39 during a post-holiday sale at Marshalls a couple years ago.  After the holidays is a bargain shopper’s favorite time of year to shop because of deals like that one I got on the coat.
