Hey y’all! I hope you’ve been enjoying the holiday season and that you’re excited about entering 2013. Time flies, right?
On boxing day, I went shopping and hoped to find some key items for my wardrobe. All of the stores I visited offered generous discounts, but I only purchased three items. I found a couple button-neck sweaters in Banana Republic at 50% off their sale prices. My wardrobe lacks warmer sweaters, so these were great finds. I also purchased the plaid placket henley shirt in Anthropologie because it provides a hip way to embrace the plaid trend.
Todays’ post shows how I styled my plaid placket top for a casual winter day. I’m also wearing my first pair of thrifted shoes—Vans ‘Sophie’ oxfords. These flats were a steal at just $3 in one of my new favorite resale shops in St. Louis, Olive Branch Exchange. The prices there are always much lower than I’d expect for its stylish selection of vintage clothing and resale garbs.

I love your shoes, hat and handbag. Accessories really do put the finishing touches on and outfit, don't they?
Indeed, Lisa! Thanks for stopping by!
I am all in on this look!! Very cute and laid back! Love the colors and the shoes!
Thanks, Ticka! I've been going for that laid back look since the holidays 🙂
Those shoes are cute, but not with this outfit. Would be better with different color tights or with stylish pants. Cute top!
I appreciate the feedback! The oxfords do look super cute with stylish pants. I'll have to wear them that way next time.
I love that bag and the color combo!!!

Thanks, Chloe!
Really like the burgundy in this outfit, and the grey coat looks beautiful with the skirt 🙂
