Back to Burgundy: An Essential Fall Skirt

Fashion experts have been telling us that burgundy (or oxblood or any other strange name the color is being called lately) is the “IT” color for Fall 2012.

It’s a hue I definitely do.  I’ve often chosen the color for shoes and handbags because it goes well with everything.  I’ve never owned a skirt in the color though.  So, when I spotted the perfect burgundy pencil skirt in Marshalls for $24.99 recently, I purchased it.

Shirt—The Limited
Sweater—Loft (Loft option, F21 option)
Skirt—Thalian via Marshalls (Forever21 option)
Tights—Dolci Calze via Marshalls (similar)
Boots—BP ‘Runway’ boot via Nordstrom

Will you be going back to burgundy this Fall?

I actually passed up a burgundy JCrew #2 pencil skirt at the JCrew warehouse sale I recently attended. It was a couple of sizes too big but definitely worth tailoring especially becuase of the price 🙁
So needless to say I'm still kicking myself in the butt for that.

BTW, I posted an outfit inspired by you 🙂

Mustard is my favorite color to pair with Burgundy. I agree with you on the accessories. I love quite a few the Burgundy shoes I've seen so far.

Pretty skirt; I got the Loft one in burgundy. Love it! You remind me I need navy tights 🙂

That is such a nice colour for a pencil skirt! I really like it with the yellow top too 🙂
