Looking Back, Looking Forward: Spring Scarves

Lightweight scarves make spring essentials lists every year.  From floral print scarves to stripe scarves, they are the perfect complements to our warm weather wear.

Added bonus:  If you have sensitive skin like I do and allergies prevent you from sporting all the trendy baubles around your neck, scarves provide a chic and safe alternative.  I turned to scarves many years ago and my collection, let’s just say,  has grown out of control.

My growing collection of scarves has clearly outgrown this storage method.  I’m currently working on an alternative method of storing them.

One of my current favorite spring scarves is this turquoise and white stripe scarf from The Limited.  You saw recently how this lightweight scarf helped me remix a few basic pieces from my wardrobe in the following looks.

By the way, my stripes on stripes look (on the right above) was featured in The New York Times ‘Street Style: Spring Scarves’ this week.

I am… shall I say "obsessed" with scarves. My collection is ridiculous – starting to rival my shoes in terms of quantity. Lately I have been scoring adorable colorful ones from Target – on clearance, no less! I also like Old Navy for affordable fun prints.
