I usually avoid purchasing “dressier” dresses because I rarely get to wear them. On occasion, however, I encounter a dress that is so fly I create opportunities just to wear it.
Last weekend, I spotted a navy Alice + Olivia dress in a TJ Maxx Runway store. It has a pleated bodice, an asymmetric tiered skirt, and an open zipper in the back. I knew I was in trouble as my excitement over this dress rapidly escalated because I noticed the yellow Alice + Olivia tag, which meant the dress was probably pricey. I was right, too, it’s a $396 dress.
Guess what though? The dress was on clearance for $59!
|I was worried the dress wouldn’t fit because it’s a size 10.
It looked like it would fit, though, so I insisted on
trying it on.
|A deal worth framing!|
I’m planning to wear this to a fashion and beauty event I’m attending in a few weeks. Hopefully, the Amrita Singh statement necklace I ordered on hautelook will be here by then.
That dress is perfect on you.
Thanks! I saw it on the rack and thought it looked like my size despite what the tag said 🙂
IT IS gorgeous!!!!!!
Girl…that's why i had to make an exception and purchase this one 🙂
And the Fashion Gods smiled down upon you… What a terrific find! I love a navy dress… well, navy anything.
Yes, and I wish the fashion Gods would do that more often. Ha!
Oh my God, what an awesome bargain! I love Alice + Olivia, so right now I'm super jealous of you! What a fabulous find!

So, you surely understand how major this score was. I saw the label and was planning to humor myself by looking at the price. I'm still stunned by what I saw.
No Way! Why con't I ever find A+O in my TJ-Maxx??? You lucky girl, great score!
If you've got a Runway store, I'll definitely go visit now. I saw dresses by Akiko, Leifsdottir, Marc by Marc Jacobs, and so many more fab designers. Many of them were already on clearance too!
That is an insane price! Congrats on an amazing find! It fits you perfectly! 🙂
Right! These are the kinds of deals that force me to break into a spontaneous happy dance in the store. Ha!
Gorgeous! And I love your clutch! Is the dress "belt-able" so that you could add a thin contrasting belt?
For sure. It's absolutely belt-able. I'm thinking about belting it for an event that I'll be wearing it to soon. Since it's so short, though, I'm still on the fence about breaking it up with a belt. We'll see… 🙂
