Dressing for a Heat Wave

Can you believe the heat wave is back in St. Louis?  The temperature has exceeded 100 degrees all week!  It has been so difficult to dress during this recent swelter because the moment I step outside, the sweat starts a-rolling.

My new H&M dress is already getting some serious wear.  It just happens to be my perfect, beat-the-heat look today.  It is a dress, which practically has its own ventilation system, right?  It is 100% cotton, which breathes easily.  The stripes (and I suppose the material too) magically hides any evidence of me sweating.  Sweat spots are not stylish after all.

Why the cardigan?  All the buildings are freezing!

The pink and orange one would probably look cooler on this hot day than the black and white.  Hmmm…more justification to get that one too?  I am actually secretly hoping that this dress is one of those marked down during the up to $20 off dresses offer in the Labor Day Weekend event at H&M.  By the way, I will be posting all the sales I will be checking out this weekend over on Facebook.

If you are also experiencing a heat wave, stay cool.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Looking cool and cute! Those bold stripes are awesome; I love that you can keep the accessories at a minimum with that dress–perfect for beating the heat.

I love this dress. And yes, it's a heat wave here too, but tomorrow will bring relief. Stay cool.

@Jane: So true. The stripes hold it down in the chic department. They don't require help at all.

@Sing: I hope you all in Chi-Town got that well-needed relief! It is cool here in the Lou.

@Ladytink_534: Yes. Yes. I now claim stripes and spots my signature combination of the fall.

@CAPIS: No, the sash is a cardigan from Ann Taylor tied around the waist.
