Simple Updates for a Basic Knit Summer Dress

I have accumulated many lightweight knit summer dresses and I have grown bored with several of them. I sometimes, however, too quickly decide to get rid of items from my closet. So, I plan to try to restore my fondness for a couple knit dresses that are on the chopping block.

One of the two dresses will be featured today. It is a simple, navy, knit dress with elastic at the waist that creates a blouson effect and an A-line skirt. I believe it came with a self-tie belt.

I purchased the dress on clearance last summer and have rarely worn it because it is a bit of a snooze on me. So, in attempt to jazz up the dress, I added a watercolor floral print scarf as a belt. Tan espadrille wedges and a straw fedora add finishing touches.

    I really need to start using my scraves as belts, love how it updates. In fact, I hope I remember to do this for a pretty yellow dress I have that needs a pretty belt.

    Thanks so much @Anonymous!

    @Andi: Don't they though? Thanks!

    @Sing: Definitely. I have so many scarves now that it is imperative I start making them work in multiple ways…as belts, necklaces, and anything else…

    @Kish: Thank ya!

    @Amina: Thanks, Amina! I am really enjoying the short cut.

    @Minister of Style: Ha! I don't know what I was thinking putting this one on the chopping block. Glad it made a comeback 🙂
