New fashion trends emerge every season. You have probably already seen several lists with must-have items for the spring and summer. Since, I am seriously trying to work with what I own more this year, I am going to be pulling some favorites from my current wardrobe that are “in” this spring.
Watercolor. Unlike it’s floral friend, the watercolor print has modern art appeal. I got my favorite piece, a watercolor floral dress, for an unbelievable $5.95!

Tights—Merona for Target

Floral. I can’t remember a spring or summer when florals did not take center stage. So, if you are fan, rocking botanically-inspired looks exudes spring freshness.
Dress—J Crew
Pumps—Tahari via Nordstrom
Khaki. Safari inspired looks seem to emerge as simple yet sophisticated go-to looks in the spring and summer. I bought this classic khaki shirtdress in the Gap last spring.

White. From a classic white tee to a white flouncy dress, all summer styles look great in white. One of my favorite white items is this dress by Calvin Klein.
Dress—Calvin Klein via T.J. Maxx

Denim. Denim has exploded on the scene this spring. Since, I always prefer to wear a dress, this shirtdress from the Gap will be a staple for a second spring/summer.
Dress—Gap
Belt—The Limited
Shoes—Tahari via UpperBid
Bold color. Bring on the brights this spring. Bold color may not be for the faint at heart, but when you find a bright you love, there is no turning back. When I look at my wardrobe, it is clear that I am drawn to plums.

Punk. As a lover of studs, an easy way for me to add a little rock edge to my looks is by accenting with an old favorite-the Destination Style NY by Patricia Field studded belt.

Lace. Lace seems to have cemented a spot on the 2011 trend lists. I don’t own very much, but I do love wearing my eyelet dresses this time of year. This black, emrbroidered eyelet sheath has been a longstanding favorite of mine. I found this one in Marshalls in 2008.

What are your thoughts on the spring/summer trends for 2011?
Great choices! You look fabulous.
I would totally wear most of what you've got here (= not the white, khaki, or pale denim, because I myself am very pale. And ok, I prefer abstract prints to florals).
You give me hope here, because each year I get a little more cynical about what's in and what's out, and you've listed some things I love no matter what the fashion police say – lace, studs, and watercolor, for instance. High fives for shopping your closet – I will be doing the same!
Cute outfits! Your second picture (Dress from J.Crew)…I recently bought the exact J.Crew skirt from Goodwill for $6! It looks brand new! So excited for wearing it this summer.
Way to go @Ru! Trends do get quite cyclical, so you can;t go wrong just wearing what you love.
No way @MrsCrystal! I must be shopping in the wrong Goodwill…I never find such amazing goodies. That is a super steal!
