Upgrade. So, a little over a year ago, I found a denim pencil skirt on sale for $9.99 in a BR outlet. I wouldn’t normally wear a denim skirt, but the shape and buttons on this skirt made it look quite chic. I wear it everywhere.
Fall 2007Let’s take a look back at a Fall 07 casual outfit created with this denim skirt. A red chunky knit sweater is paired with the pencil skirt. Black tights and black cap-toe pumps complete the look.
Sweater—The Limited
Skirt—Banana Republic Factory Store
Tights—Marshalls
Shoes—Nine West via Marshalls
Coat—Kenneth Cole Reaction via Overstock
Fall 2008For Fall ’08, the denim skirt outfit gets a fresh update when paired with a black and camel combo print jacket cinched at the waist with a self-tie belt. Brown knee-high boots with subtle slouches finish the outfit.
Jacket—Grace Elements via Marshalls
Skirt—Banana Repulic Factory Store
Boots—Jeffrey Campbell via Solestruck
Both of those looks—with the same skirt—are brilliant.
Better yet, the pricetag of that skirt!

Gorgeous boots. They’re my favorite fall/winter footwear!
I love the jacket in Fall 08!
i’ve always been kinda iffy about denim skirts as well. however, the ones i’m usually attracted too have nice detailing such as yours.
nice styling. i especially like the second look.
Denim skirts are so versatile! Easy to wear like denim pants, but much more comfortable and feminine. Nice blazer, by the way!
Both outfits are great, but indeed you’ve improved in the 2008 look.
How great, and what a bargain, dear.
xoxo
Enc: I miss my BR Factory Store. There was always a great deal to be found.
Penny-pinching-princess: That blazer is a looker. I almost didn't buy it because there were so many available in Marshalls, which results in one of two situations–either everybody in your city will have the same jacket or nobody will buy it and Marshalls will slash the price in a couple weeks. I decided to get it since there was only one in my size.
Lenorenevermore: Thanks! Happy Autumn to you!
C.Michele: Thank ya!
Jewells: Good luck with your search 🙂 Pencil skirts are so fabulous, right.
Laughing808: I appreciate you coming by. I fell in love with that jacket immediately.
LJ: Thanks. The jacket and boots nicely transformed that basic denim skirt.
Milly: I appreciate it!
Capis: Wow, how did you notice? I do have a new cut. I might do an hair update post soon 🙂
Diana Coronado: Sounds like a blast. I will be by.
Fresh & Fab: Awww thanks!
My Fashion Frenzy: Right. I could not wait for the temperature to dip enough to pull out the boots 🙂
Cherry Blossoms: Wonderful. Me too. Would you believe that I only started wearing boots last Fall? I can't do without them now.
V: It has a great silhouette and print. It also came in a bold green and black.
Fly Tie: I should think about why I've been so iffy about denim skirts. Where does that come from?
Lopi: I feel you on that. I would opt for the comfort of a skirt over pants any day 🙂
Seeker: Thanks. It is great to see how our style evolves.
love this look, and i LOVE Jeffrey Campbell. I need those boots…
I love love the 2008 look. REALLY.
