Summer Suited Pt. 2

Back in uniform. I was not kidding when I said I wear shorts to work a lot during the summer. Gosh, do you remember when wearing shorts to the office was risqué? I wonder if next summer I will be comfortable wearing short shorts to work? Anyway, today’s outfit features brown knee-length shorts. The pants are topped off by a fresh and cool plaid jacket layered over a tan camisole. Patent leather orange t-strap wedges finish the look.
To read about how I snagged this cool jacket, go here.

Dear Goddess of discount designs: You did it again. I love the orange shoes. Really, you need to give up your day job and take us mere mortals shopping who leave Marshall’s with nothing more than a headache and the desire to pay full retail just in hopes of finding something fabulous.

    Great outfit!!

I wear shorts to work in the summer all the time as well. I think I would go crazy if they went out of style for the office. 🙂

I remember when Lord and Taylor went out of business. At the time I was still in school so I didn’t have a lot to spend on clothes, but I did snag a scarf that was on clearance.

Psyche! Where do you work? If I wore shorts to work I would definitely get the side eye. I’m lovin’ the look and totally wish I could get away with it.

I just got those shorts last night at TJ Maxx and I have them on today at work too!! I love them. They are perfect for work. I have on a yellow tank, and a short sleeve khaki blazer. I have the shorts in brown, grey and tan! Love Them!!

La Belette Rouge: Awwww…I really appreciate you saying that. And, it is official, I am changing my name! Ha. I often fantasize about a life in the industry of style. This blog journey has at least allowed me to stick my toe into that world. Maybe someday!

Fresh & Fab: Thanks. I have grown so comfortable in them. And, this length allows me to work with my 5’4″ stature.

Aizat.cinta.goddess: Thanks for stopping by! This jacket is an old favorite of mine.

Maggie: Me too! Shorts are so easy! Glad you got that scarf. I cleaned up when Lord & Taylor was going out of business. I swear I was in there like everyday until the racks were cleared.

Oh that Girl: I work at a University. And, as much as I get on the academy for not being fashion forward, I do have a lot of freedoms, and wearing what I want is one of them. Academics mostly try to look like they don’t care about how they look. But, I do. I took me a while to get comfortable with that. My students appreciate it too 🙂

    Kira Fashion: Thanks, Kira!

Chicstyelz: Your outfit sounds fabulous! I know you are in the business of making others beautiful, but do you ever show personal outfits? I would love to see some!

You look great, love the blazer.

I’m feeling pressure about those gladiators, don’t know how to wear them and I feel everybody is expecting too much of me… 🙁

I love the added color of the shoes-I am 5’4 also so Shorts are so easy for the summer for me also. I alternate between shorts and capris. This look is fabulous

Karthik: Lol. Maybe the girls will, but women don’t like hair like that.

Seeker: Thanks. But, how is it that you don’t have orange shoes? I need the other colors you do have!

Diva: I really cannot believe that you are 5’4″! You work your shorts and capris. I have vowed to never buy capri shorts again in life. They hit my calves in the wrong spot 🙂

Twinkle Twinkle: Damn! You caught me. This jacket sure does have subtle padding in the shoulders 🙂 I guess my straight pose helps to show that too, huh.

Sara: Another fabulous Marshalls find. Thanks for stopping by!

Chililady: They are very comfortable too! Despite all the talk about wedges, I have never found them comfortable until this pair.

I remember the first time I wore short to work…it didn’t help matters that I was fond of wearing my shirt unbuttoned to my sternum..lol

    Danz: Thank ya!

Enc: Ha. I wish I could wear skorts to work on occasion.

    Imelda Matt: AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

    Hey sweetie,

Love this outfit on you. Especially the orange shoes, you love you some T-strap shoes like I love ankle-straps 🙂 Cute as always!!

  17. June 16, 2008 / 9:16 pm

Budget Chic: Ha. Thanks. You are so right about that one–I love t-straps sandals! I like the look of ankle straps (and you work the hell out of those), but they cut my leg off, and at just 5’4″, I cannot afford that 🙂
