Stylishly Cool

Heat wave. It can be hard to stay cool in the summer without dressing like you are heading to the beach. But, knee-length shorts are my refuge. This summer work look features black straight leg shorts paired with a white cami and a yellow three-quarter sleeve cardigan. A zebra stripe skinny belt ties the look together. Red peep-toe pumps complete the outfit.

You can definitely get away with a belted looks. Love the added bonus of the zebra and red.

Do you remember our previous conversation re: my post, belts and waist definition? Well, I made an attempt (no pic b/c it was horrific) and it added attention to my short waist and thick middle. :O/ You, my dear, do NOT have either of those problem. Are you sure you’re really 5’4? ;O)

That belt is so amazing, and looks so well with the yellow cardi, that’s the yellow, white and black combo that I love.

Wow I do not know where to start. The belt, ok now you know I am a belt person so you already know my thoughts on that. The added detail of the belt being zebra print against the yellow however looks amazing. What a great combo and the red shoes are a great unexpected touch to an already amazing outfit.

Oh that Girl: You know, I only recently started to experiment with belts, and they have expanded my wardrobe. I certainly do remember our conversation. And, I still think it would work well for you, so I’ve got to see a pic!

Kira Fashion: Yellow is so cool. And, the zebra print is one of my favorite animal prints. Thanks for coming by.

Fashion Addict: My pleasure! The coolest thing about this belt is it is reversible. Yes. The other side is just a solid black.

Seeker: You are queen of the belted cardigan look. Thanks for giving me ideas!

Silje’s Fashion: I appreciate it. They do add some interest to these basic pieces.

Diva: And, you know I love the way you work those belts! I think I get the whole belt thing now 馃檪

WOW…..those colors can really trick one’s mind into feeling cool on a HOT day!…However…your clothes always fit you so well…BEAUTIFUL…..CAPIS.

    Secretista: Thanks!!

Imelda Matt: For sure! I know you will rock it too.

Capis: And, I need my mind to be tricked because it is hot hot hot! I am really anal about fit. I spend too much time in the fitting room, and my buying something does not guarantee its position in my wardrobe either. I return anything in a heartbeat.

Always in Style: Thanks for stopping by! The goal was surely to keep cool. 90 degree temperature is exactly what I like least about the summer.

Fresh & Fab: I am going with your description, I like that! I guess the cardigan makes it girl next door, and the length of the pants and belt give it some edge.

Anon: Awww that is wonderful! Fashion truly is more than clothes. In my world, I felt guilty for a long time because of my fascination with style. I guess academics aren’t supposed to be stylish. But, like you said, there is so much joy is dressing. Thanks for stopping by.
