“You Saw the Ad, Now Get the Look”

Ok Old Navy. ON is so confident about its new safari collection, hence the title of a recent email to subscribers—“you saw the ad, now get the look.” Now, its safari collection does look very chic. So, I decided to pay a long overdue visit to ON this past weekend.
In person, the safari collection looked just as good as I imagined. Many of the collection’s pieces were already marked down too. I am sad to report though that I was disappointed with the fit of most of the items I tried on.
The belted safari jacket, a popular piece in the collection, was all wrong for me. The rolled sleeves were too tight while the bodice was too large. The only thing that fit perfectly was the black leopard safari style dress. Despite reservations about the short length, I bought it anyway.
At home, I threw on some leggings, pull-on boots, and a black cardigan. What resulted was a cute look; but, it is just not my style. So, I say nay to this ON safari dress—return, return, return!

A Warm Visit

Sunny Sunday. Just as I was slipping into a fashion rut because of the unending wintry days, the sun stopped by with 78 degree temperature! Did I say it was 78 degrees yesterday?

To celebrate the warm and cheery day, I stepped out in ‘neon brights’. My two-year old kelly green dress with the vintage sweetheart neckline got new life when paired with a yellow three-quarter length sleeve cardigan. A multiple strand, bead necklace with bold stone, and a pair of two-tone (mocha/black) pumps with dainty gold buckle added sophisticated final touches.

Easy Going

TGIF. Cool stripes frame the modish square neck on this baby doll sweater. The sweater has stripes along the edges of the sleeves and at the rolled bottom hem. An easy-going look is created when the sweater is paired with indigo cropped skinny jeans and red peep-toe pumps. A brown leather clutch with gold piping and an optional strap adds a finishing touch.

A Sleek and Stylish Win

Yippee! I sign up for many giveaways and sweepstakes. And, it is no surprise that I never win any of them. The probabilities are what they are. But, guess what? I won these fabulous Luichiny Heart boots! For real!

Anatomy of Style, a personal shopper service and fashion advice company here in St. Louis, held a V-day sweepstakes for these Luichiny boots, and I am the proud winner. Anatomy of style. Economy of style. It was meant to be, right? I am so excited. The only thing better than a great bargain is a free one!
What a great prize too. These pointy toe leather boots are sleek and sexy with striking details like embossed straps throughout, a sky-high heel, and a versatile metallic color—gunmetal. I can’t wait to walk the streets in these boots.

Looking Back, Looking Forward

Chic and handy. So, we know that accessories are essential finishing touches to any woman’s look. Some accessories get more attention than others. A style conscious woman, however, cares about all her accessories. And, a wallet, though usually concealed in a fabulous handbag, is something we all own and probably use all the time. So, why not have one that is not only functional, but also timelessly stylish?
This ruby wallet, sized to fit a checkbook, features snap flaps on each side of a center pocket. The center pocket is quite chic with a retro-style clasp closure and a vintage floral interior. Storing the essentials and always in style, this wallet is a modern classic.
