The fall plaid trend is an easy choice for fun with fashion this season. Can you tell I’m a fan? I styled a fabulous plaid topper earlier this week (see that look here). Today, I’m borrowing a plaid shirt from hubby’s closet…again (see the same shirt worn before here). What I’m especially loving about the plaid trend this year is you can make it punk, you can make strong, you can make it edgy.
What I’m wearing:
Plaid shirt (similar, similar, similar) | Faux leather mini skirt (similar, similar)
Slouch booties (similar) | Bag | Circle earrings (similar) | 14K gold studs
This particular plaid shirt is such a winner because of its striking red buffalo plaid. This top is quite oversized as well, which gives me lots of freedom for styling. I can leave a few buttons undone and drape it off my shoulders.
I can scrunch the sleeves up to create a right-on-trend puff sleeve. Don’t you just love items that give you space to get creative?
I’m wearing the plaid shirt with a leather mini. I got this one from J.Crew Factory last year (remember this look?). And, to complete the look? Slouch booties! Slouch boots are a huge trend this fall. The bootie version of that style is easy to wear because it’s less likely to overwhelm a look or your frame.
I love earrings with fun, architectural shapes. My circle earrings are from Diamonds Direct. I’m a huge fan of a similar pair from AUrate though (see them here).
