My makeup routine is simple. I like to use as few products as possible to get flawless looking skin. But, I have scars and hyper-pigmentation. I also have sensitive skin (read all about how DNA testing helped me further understand my sensitive skin here). So, when the Fenty Beauty Collection dropped, I only planned to buy a highlighter and the lip gloss because I didn’t need new makeup. But, after reading all the rave reviews about the foundation, I had to try it.
I was disappointed when I skimmed the ingredients in the Fenty foundation and noticed “Fragrance/Parfum.” That’s usually a deal breaker for me since I’m sensitive to fragrances. I took a chance, though, and I tried the foundation. The fragrance was listed near the bottom of the list of ingredients, likely indicating it was not a predominant ingredient. I also couldn’t detect a strong smell. Good news. I’ve been using the foundation every day for a week without any reaction.
My Fenty Beauty Foundation Color Match
I got matched to the color 390 in the Fenty Beauty Foundation. I apply it using the Fenty Beauty foundation brush. For reference, I wear a NC50 in Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation, and I’m a 2Y12 in the color IQ system at Sephora.
This foundation will likely replace my old favorite because of its beautiful matte finish, perfect shade match, and buildable coverage.
What are you favorite products in the Fenty Beauty Collection? And, are you as excited as I am about the holiday collection?
Stunning! Did you apply the full look shown in the pic or was it done professionally with Fenty products? I stopped wearing foundation last year and am now inspired to refresh my look for the winter.

I’m totally flattered by the question, Candice. I did my own face with the products, and I’m not a pro at all.
You look beautiful! Polished!

Thanks so much, Melissa!
Thank you for this! I am 2y12 and for some reason 390 shows up as 3y12. Very close but intensifies the undertone. Before I even seen your color match…I was like..wow, she looks exactly like my color! I love 390 but as winter comes, I might have to mix this with another shade. Do you notice that as the winter creeps in this may be too dark? Also, what color would you say you use for the concealer in her line? Thanks for your post. It reassured me that I have the right shade selected.
