Once again, fashion pushed me to new opportunities. In 2007, when I started this fashion blog, I couldn’t imagine how much it would change my life. I started this blog to create a space where we could have open and honest discussions about style and budgets. And, while I knew that fashion could be transformative, I didn’t anticipate being as inspired and encouraged by these discussions we have here everyday. These conversations have created opportunities for me and have also made me feel ready to embrace them

In May 2016, I was invited to speak on a series of panels at an event hosted by the Women in Footwear Industry. As the retail landscape changes, major players in the fashion industry have become increasingly interested in influencer marketing. I got to share my experiences and insights.
In May 2016, I presented at Go Blog Social Conference in St. Louis. I can remember being blown away after attending my first blog conference, so to now be invited to present at a major conference? Goals!
In July 2016, I got to host the Camp Redbook booth at Fair Saint Louis. Winning the Redbook Real Women Style Awards competition last year is like a gift that keeps on giving. I’ve been thrilled to continue to collaborate with Redbook.
In July 2016, I got to host a pop-up closet at a local event promoting the Hanger app. It was such a fun experience to give fellow bloggers a peek inside the Economy of Style closet.
Later in July 2016, I hosted my first event for fellow bloggers and influencers. In partnership with the St. Louis Premium Outlets, I got to select a few of my favorite local bloggers to join me in exploring the amazing finds at the mall.
In early October 2016, I got to share my view on fashion and photography in the middle of America during Saint Louis Design Week. I was honored to sit on a panel with such esteemed and seasoned players in the fashion game.
Later in October 2016, I got to talk about fashion and marketing with members of the Public Relations Society of America. It still surprises me how fascinated people are by the inner workings of a blog business.
Throughout the year, I also had the opportunity to connect with many of you at store events throughout the city, from Kendra Scott to Christopher & Banks to my recent appearance at Hazel2Blue boutique.
Thank you so much for your support of my blog! I’m looking forward to continuing to connect with you.
