Shopping Next Season Now: BP Runway Boots

No, I haven’t lost my mind.  Yes, it’s still hella hot in the Lou.  It’s just that time of year again.  The Nordsrom Anniversary Sale is in full swing!

This year, I’ve had my eyes on one thing only—the BP Runway boots in cognac.  Last winter, I searched extensively for a low wedge boot like this one to no avail.  So, when I flipped through the Nordstrom Anniversary catalog and spotted the BP Runway boots on sale for $89.90 (orig. $129.95), I knew I had to have them.

These BP boots have a 1 1/2″ low covered wedge heel,  a sculpted top line, and an exposed back zip closure.  They also feature a 15″ calf circumference that doesn’t overwhelm my calves, which is a problem I often encounter with boots.  The boots are exactly what I wanted.

Looking Forward:

I usually love summers.  This year, though, I’m looking forward to the fall for the cooler temperature and the opportunities I’ll have to wear these boots.

The boots look polished and professional when worn

with one of my favorite sheath dresses

Fit:  True to size.  I purchased the boots in my usual size 8 and they are a perfect fit.

structured profile.

Looking Back:

Since it’s Wednesday, it’s also time to take a quick look back.  Here are a few looks from last winter, each featuring my Jeffrey Campbell cognac boots.  These boots complement so many of my colder weather outfits, but I often pass on wearing them because of the high heel.  I won’t have that issue with my new pair.

This is the perfect time to start stocking up on boots and coats. I can't stand when the season arrives and I can't find anything I want. So I feel ya. Love the dress with these boots.

So true, Sing. That was exactly the situation I faced last winter when I waited. I couldn't find a low heel boot in my size. Thanks for the kind words as always!

I love those boots – ordered them last year during the Anniversary Sale. Unfortunately, I have calves the size of a pencil and they were too huge for me to keep. Pretty boot though.

Aww man. That sucks. I was worried about these being too big. Luckily, they worked out for me.

Do you think these run true to size and width? Thought BP was a juniors brand at Nordstroms. Should I size up?

    • July 25, 2012 / 9:39 pm

Yes, they do run true to size and width. That's my personal experience. There are also over 240 positive reviews on the Nordstrom site that found the sizing accurate as well. Definitely head to the store and try them on if you can. They sold out very quickly last year, so I didn't take any chances.

I have these as well, and I love them! Last year, I even wanted a pair in black because I liked them so much, but I'm glad I waited for Nordstrom's anniversary sale.

How cool! I'm so excited I got them. I also tried on the burgundy color. Now, I'm thinking I might need a black pair. Hmmm…

I know I should be looking for a good deal on boots right now, as they are my only targeted fall purchase, but oh man, this heat is killing me!

I love that color, and they do look awesome on you.

    • July 27, 2012 / 6:17 pm

Totally understandable!!! It felt really odd trying on boots in this heat wave.

I think the wedge heel is a great choice for the comfort factor. My cognac boots have a 3.5 inch heel and my body knows I've worn them at the end of the day.

    • July 27, 2012 / 6:21 pm

Yes, I agree. I can't wear my high heel boots too long either. I also had a very embarrassing fall in high boots right in the middle of the student center of my University workplace two years ago. Did I mention it was like noon? It was wet outside and I slipped on the slick floors.

Thanks! It was a clearance buy in Marshalls too. So cheap.

Oh they are beautiful boots! Well done for scoring them in the sale!

  9. July 28, 2012 / 3:49 am

Those are super boots — after seeing your review I had to purchase them too (better to do this in summer and on sale rather than winter and out of stock, right?) I'm new to your blog and have to say the way you colour-block outfits is fantastic and quite inspiring. Thanks for the ideas!

How cool! You are so right, it just made sense to shop them early. I'm so glad you found the blog. Welcome! Let's stay in touch!

I was looking at these boots online and happened to come across this page. BP should thank you because I'm sold now after seeing your pics of them!! I have an orange dress too that I will definitely pair them with!

    • September 15, 2012 / 10:46 pm

Heya! The calf circumference measures at 15 inches. I recommend measuring your calves to gauge the fit.

    • September 15, 2012 / 10:46 pm

I totally understand. I'm thinking about buying a second pair too 🙂

    • September 15, 2012 / 10:47 pm

Oooh…I hope they work out for you! Come back and let me know!
