Casual Style

Happy Monday!  It may be Monday, but today's post features an outfit I wore to do some weekend shopping.  I cuffed my straight leg jeans and paired it with a lightweight, sheer, button-front shirt.  Yellow ballet flats and a straw fedora add fresh finishing touches.

This look also features my Gap mini duffel bag.  I used to love the Gap's leather bags back in the day.  They were always buttery soft and luxe looking.  I got this one in the summer of 2003.  It had originally retailed for about $78 and I purchased it when the price dropped to $20.  Or was it $10?  Whatever the case, the bag remains an amazing find.

Have you tried Old Navy's ballet flats?
They are simply chic, low-priced ($19.94), and quite comfortable.

  3. I've not tried the Old Navy flats, but I love the blouse you're wearing! Is this what you had on when you met Aretha?

    1. Thanks, Terri. No, I was wearing something similar though. I had on the same jeans (repeat offender) with a polka dot tee shirt. I still can't believe I ran into her in a Walmart store!

  5. Hmmm, I have ballet flats from Saks 5th Avenue Outlet, Loft, and Target. I feel like I should be fair to Old Navy and try theirs, too :)

    1. It's time. And, it's only fair. Ha.

I've been exploring "cheap" shoes lately. Shoes are probably the fashion item I'm least emotionally invested in. So, since I've encountered so many problems with my more expensive pairs, I thought I would try something different. So far, so good.
