Gingham Goodness

I bought a sleeveless gingham top on a summer trip to NYC when I was in high school and I literally wore that top to threads.  Oddly enough, I can't recall owning anything else with a gingham print since that favorite top of mine.

So, when I made an unplanned visit to The Limited last Friday, and saw today's featured gingham top on one of the racks, I knew I had to own it.  Now, let me tell you, there are some stores I never buy anything from without first visiting the store website.  And, The Limited is one of those.  But, it was the grand opening of the store.  And, the store looked amazing.  And, everything was 40% off.  So, it couldn't hurt to look, right?

Ten minutes after entering the store, I found myself in a dressing room with two skirts, a couple tops, and three dresses.  I knew I needed more time to think about most of the items I tried on except one, the gingham top!

Here's what I did in my mind to quickly confirm my decision to buy the top.

1.  Can I wear it to work?

  6. I'm jealous you can find cute shoes at Marshall's in your size. They never have the shoes I want in my size. Adorable outfits!

  8. The same way that I get giddy when I find a good sale or deal, is how I just felt when I saw your first outfit...then the second...and then the third! I love all three looks, but I definitely want to copy the first! (note to self: Need black/white gingham top first.) Thanks for the outfit inspiration!

  11. Thanks @Anon! The first one is my fave too!

@Andi: Thanks! It was a great find. That BR skirt was a steal from a couple years ago too...definitely under $20 if I remember correctly.

Thanks @Sing! Yes. Yes. I am wearing those heels. Lol. I started wearing heels to work less often when I started teaching at a mega university. The walks to my classes were too long for the high heels :-)

@SohoAccessories: It is a beauty, right? I think I will maximize wearing this one for sure.

@Stacey: So, you understand my impulse buy then :-) I just had to have it.

@Barsola: I was skeptical about moving to a small town like Lexington, KY a few years ago. But, it has been so easy to find amazing deals at the off price retailers here. Admittedly, though, I do make sure I visit my Marshalls and TJ on the stock days to get first dibs.

Aww thanks @Kish!! Your comment got me excited :-)

@Katie: The Limited nailed this one. Who would think that a gingham top could be so versatile?

Thanks @Annabelle Fleur! The photography and styles on your blog are amazing!
