Yesterday, I had to travel for a meeting. I was out of my house at 5 am to catch a plane that would get me to my destination city in time for the meeting. At the end of the day, I got back on a plane and returned home.
When thinking about what I would wear for that day, I immediately knew I wanted to wear something soft and wrinkle-resistant for the plane. I also knew that I wanted to wear basic black since the meeting was fairly formal.
I pulled for my ponte knit sheath by Tahari. It traveled so well too…not a crease in sight! To personalize the basic black sheath, I added a black patent skinny belt, a red cardigan, and a houndstooth scarf. Since I had to do a lot of walking on that day, my well broken-in, pointed toe flats completed the look. My supersized Hobo International Bodega Bay tote conveniently stowed all my travel essentials in one place.

At the end of the busy day, I had just enough time to have dinner with an old friend who just happened to be flying out of the city that night too. Here we are in a yellow cab riding to the airport. I really wish I had time to snap her outfit. She was working a fabulously color blocked look.
Very nicely done.
Sounds like a long day!! But definitely a good idea to wear something wrinkle free when there's no time to iron or change!

very cute! great idea, i'm always stumped on what to wear on the plane.
Really chic… love the look! I recently got an on-campus job (I'm in grad school) and have to wear formals every day. Scouring my wardrobe so I can put together formal looks without shopping too much. Getting a black sheath though is totally in order 🙂
I loveth your one day all bases covered look…That is no easy task considering you had a conference, travel, day in the city, etc…Great selection!
Cute, I really like your friend's scarf!
Thanks @Sing!
It really was…@Shasie. Crease-free was definitely a must for that day.
I get stumped too @EbonyCPrincess! If I wore pants more, I would have probably worn pants because my legs get cold on the plane. A blanket kept them warm this time though.
Congrats on the new gig @Sabera!! I work on a campus too! A black sheath is a great investment. Sheath dresses are practically my uniform.
Thanks @Annie! My outfit had to work some serious overtime that day. I am so glad it worked out though 🙂
It is adorable, right @Juanette!
