The Fabulous Sheath

A classic. We’ve got to love the timeless and totally flattering sheath dress. It endures passing trends and transitions easily from day to night.

Recently, I fell in love with Banana Republic’s graphic print sheath. Knowing that I would be crushed if I saw the dress on sale after paying the $140 retail price, I decided to wait for the usual BR price slashing. Unfortunately, the dress sold out in my size before I could cop one on sale. It’s the risk we take on the search for a great bargain, right?

I bounced back from the loss of the BR sheath when I spotted an equally sophisticated London Times dress in Marshalls. This dress had cap sleeves, a round neck with pleated detailing, and a very chic two-tone styling. It also came with a cheesy skinny patent belt, a detail I was willing to overlook since it was only $24.99!

Check it out.

1. Skinny belt that came with the dress
2. Red belt—The Limited
3. Yellow belt—Banana Republic Factory Store
4. Cardigan—Ann Taylor Loft

Thats very nice! I love dresses by Maggy London/London Times, they fit so well!

I think all the options you came up with are great. I think my fav is the yellow skinny belt no cardigan, but they are all pretty!

I think it is women's nature to bargain search. My mother taught me, and her mother taught her, and nothing beats a Saturday like hunting for an awesome deal. I've struck gold, time and time again at Macy's with their awesome Charter Club XLA no-iron shirts. Wash and fold, these classics skip the dry cleaners all together! A forever crisp dress shirt that saves both time and money!

Beautiful! BR dresses are my absolute favorite!!! I just bought a pretty ATL Sheath dress…I posted on it this past week on my blog! It sold out quick in my size so I ended up getting a bigger size–but I'm happy w/it and will belt it up as you did your sheath dress from Marshall's which looks sooo pretty!
